Game 50 – Warrior Wishes Come True at the Colts Game!

We kicked off week 13 of our mission on Thanksgiving day in Detroit.

My dad took a train back home after the Lions game to enjoy some Thanksgiving leftovers and the local Electric Light Parade with the grandkids before heading off to our next mission.

Fellow Director, Bill Heaton and my dad hit the road at 5:30 am Sunday morning and made their way to Indianapolis to make some wishes come true at the Colts game.

Throughout the years we have made some unforgettable memories making wishes come true in Indy. Here are some of our favorites.

Today we had the honor of hosting Army SGT Ryan Phillips and Army SPC Alison Trueblood.

SGT Philips joined the US Army at 17 yrs old. The first 10 years as an infantry soldier and the last 13 years as an engineer. Ryan served overseas in Saudi Arabia and Iraq. He was then medically retired after 23 years of service. After retiring, he received a bachelors in business management and now owns his own custom woodworking business. Ryan is married to Melissa and they have two children, Chloe and Caden. He loves spending time with family and his dog Berlynn.

SPC Trueblood served in the Army from March 2007 until June 2011 as a Financial Managament Technician. She was stationed at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, Camp Casey, South Korea, Fort Lewis, Washington, and served on one deployment to Afghanistan.

Bill and my dad met up with the warriors outside of Lucas Oil stadium.

And made their way to the exclusive VIP Bullseye Tailgate! Our friends at Bullseye have been helping us make Warrior wishes come true for the past few years. They have hosted warriors at their NFL Players tailgate at the Super Bowl and every Colts game! We’re thankful for their support!

The group enjoyed great food and good company before heading inside to watch the Colts and Titans battle to keep their playoff hopes alive.

An early turnover led to a Colts touchdown to give them a 7-0 lead. The Titans answered with a touchdown of their own and the Colts kicked a field goal to take a 10-7 lead into the half.

They added another touchdown early in the third quarter, but the Titans took over from there…  Derrick Henry and the Titans went on to score 24 unanswered points and beat the Colts 31-17.

Operation Warrior Wishes would like to thank Allison and Ryan for their service and sacrifices.

On top of making these Warrior Wishes come true at today’s Colts game, we also had the honor of hosting Warriors at the Steelers, Jaguars & Chiefs games today!

My dad will be back in action next week at the Thursday night Bears game. Stay tuned!

Game 46 – Todd Gurley Makes Warrior Wishes Come True in LA!

We kicked off week 12 of our 2019 All32in17 mission making wishes come true in Houston at the Texans game…

Then yesterday our friend Tyler Eifert, his father and the Bengal Bomb Squad helped us make Warrior wishes come true at the Bengals game.

And today we had another NFL superstar help make wishes come true in LA!

Throughout the years we have made some unforgettable memories at Rams games dating back to when they played in St. Louis.

Today we were honored to be hosting Army veterans Geoffrey Quevedo and Mike Rivera at the Rams game. We were also honoring the legacy of Army Sgt Myles David Penix and hosted his wife and son at the game in his honor.

This past summer we had the pleasure of meeting Rams running back, Todd Gurley and his manager, Co, at the ESPYs. They run an organization called M.A.D.E. Which stands for Make A Difference Everyday. And today they were making a difference for our guests!

We want to thank Co and Erica (From the Rams) for helping us make these Warrior wishes come true.  Before the game, Geoffrey and Sgt Penix’s wife and son enjoyed watching pregame warmups from the sidelines and Todd Gurley stopped by to show his appreciation!

As game time approached everyone made their way up to their seats to watch the Ravens and Rams kick things off on Monday night football!

Mike was rooting for the Ravens, and he had a whole lot to cheer about as they scored a touchdown on every offensive drive in the first half! They went into halftime leading 28-6.

Unfortunately for our Rams fans, Todd Gurley and the Rams offense never got going and Lamar Jackson seemed unstoppable. He threw 5 touchdown passes on the night and led the Ravens to a 45-6 win over the Rams.

Todd Gurley May not have had the best game on the field, but he did some amazing things off the field and that makes a difference! We cannot thank him enough for helping us make Warrior Wishes come true at tonight’s game!

Operation Warrior Wishes would like to thank Geoffrey, Mike and The family of Myles David Penix. We are forever grateful for your service and sacrifices and they will never be forgotten!

We will be back in action on Thanksgiving Fay in Detroit making wishes come true with the Tubgaters at the Lions game! Stay tuned…

Game 44 – Warrior Wishes Come True in Cincinnati!

We kicked off week 12 making Warrior Wishes come true at our 43rd NFL game this season in Houston…

My dad was able to come home for about a day and a half before literally getting “back on the bus” and heading out to Cincinnati.

Throughout the years we have made some unforgettable memories making Warrior Wishes come true at the Bengals games.

Our friends at the Bengal Bomb squad have played a big part in making all of these moments possible. They have been hosting heroes at their tailgate since we started our mission in 2012. Who Dey Baby, Big John and their entire Bomb Squad crew go above and beyond every year. It’s one of my dads favorite stops on our All32in17 mission.

th

On top of hosting us this year, the Bomb Squad also raised nearly $3000 to make more wishes come true! We cannot thank them enough for their continued support!

My dad arrived in Cincy late Saturday night and actually got a good night sleep on a bed in a hotel! You’re probably as shocked as I am…  He was up at the crack of dawn to head out to Paul Brown Stadium, home of the Bengals. Upon arrival, he took a quick power nap outside the stadium before meeting up with the warriors for the pregame meal.

Today we had the honor of hosting Air Force TSgt Dustin Hoover, Army Sgt Kevin McGuffie and Krista Williams, the Gold Star Widow of Fallen Hero Army SSG Wesley Ross Williams.  The group met for brunch at Moerleins and got to know each other before the game.

The Moerlein Lager House offers a guest experience unlike any other. Located across the street from the stadium, they are a working microbrewery producing a full line of Moerlein craft brews and delectable fare featuring grain spent breads and smoked rotisserie meats. Moerlein’s has been helping make wishes come true since 2013, so make sure to stop by the next time you’re in town!

After everyone filled up on food, they made their way over to a couple of tailgates. The first tailgate was our friend, Greg Eifert’s tailgate. You may recognize the last name and yes, Greg is Tyler’s dad. Greg and Tyler have been amazing throughout the years always taking time to show the warriors their appreciation and today was no different. Tyler planned to meet the crew after the game.

Then the group headed over to meet up with Who Dey Baby, Big John and the Bengal Bomb squad. As usual, they took great care of the warriors.

Unfortunately the Bengals have yet to win a game this season… last year we brought some luck to another Ohio team, the Browns as we cheered them to their first victory in nearly 2 years. This year we hoped to bring some luck to the Bengals.

The game got off to a slow start. Playing their rivals, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Bengals took a 7-3 lead into the half.

After the Steelers benched their QB, the backup, Develin Hodges, connected with James Washington for a 79 yard TD. The teams headed into the 4th quarter tied at 10. But in the end, the Bengals offense failed to put up points and the Steelers kicked 2 field goals in the final quarter to beat the Bengals 16-10.

Despite the loss, everyone had a great time at the game. And as promised, Tyler Eifert took the time to show his appreciation to the warriors after the game. We gave each Warrior an Eifert Jersey to get signed.

Operation Warrior Wishes would like to thank TSgt Dustin Hoover, Army Sgt Kevin McGuffie and Army SSG Wesley Ross Williams your service and sacrifices are appreciated and you will never be forgotten!

My dad plans to get a good night sleep at the Cincinnati airport before catching his 7am flight to Los Angeles. He will be making Wishes come true at tomorrow’s Rams game! Stay tuned…

Game 43 – The Houston Texans Make Warrior Wishes Come True!

After a crazy Sunday where we made wishes come true at 4 games across the country in one day…

My dad got a rare “day off” due to the Monday night game being played in Mexico.

So instead of being at a game, he spent his night with our board members planning out upcoming events which include the Army Navy game and a Texas sized Cowboys party in Dallas.

So far this season we have been honored to make Warrior Wishes come true at 42 NFL games and at numerous other events. And we’re kicking off week 12 in Houston at the Texans game.

Throughout the years we have made some unforgettable memories in Houston. Here are some of our favorites.

After watching the grandkids, my dad made his way to the airport Wednesday night and flew out to Houston for a good night sleep at the airport.

He was up early Thursday morning ready to make some Warrior Wishes come true at NRG Stadium!

Today we had the honor of hosting Army Medic Tim Stroud, Army MSGT Donald Couch, Army 1SG Denise Couch, Army Spc Michael Rodriguez, Army Sgt Chris Moreno, Navy Veteran Luz Cervantes and Marines Eric Morante and LaShonda Johnson At the Houston Texans game.  Everyone met for dinner before the game, thanks to our friends at Olive Garden, and they all got to know each other.

After filling up on “never ending pasta bowls” the group made their way to NRG stadium to take the field and watch the Colts and Texans warm up before the game!

Operation Warrior Wishes would like to thank our friend Erin, Baker Hostetler LLP, and the Houston Texans for donating tickets and field passes for the game!

As game time approached the warriors made their way up to their seats to kickoff week 12 in Houston!

The Colts and Texans were in a battle for the division lead. The 2 teams traded the lead multiple times throughout the game. But in the end, Deshaun Watson & Deandre Hopkins connected in the end zone for the 2nd and the Texans won the game 20-17!

Operation Warrior Wishes would like to thank Tim, Donald, Denise, Michael, Chris, Luz, Eric and LaShonda for their service and sacrifices. It was an honor to host you all at this Texans win!

My dad will be heading home to make wishes come true at a celebrity bowling event on Friday night before heading out to Cincinnati to make wishes come true at the Bengals game on Sunday and the Rams game in LA on Monday. Stay tuned…

Game 42 – Warrior Wishes Come True at the Bears Game in LA!

On a crazy busy Sunday, we covered the entire country making wishes come true at 4 games in 1 day!  In the south, my dad was making wishes come true in Miami at the Dolphins game…

In the East, we were making wishes come true at the Washington Redskins game…

In the Midwest, I was making wishes come true at the Blackhawks game…

And on the west coast, we were hosting Navy AS2 Sean Mehaljevic at the Bears vs. Rams game in LA!

Although our regular scheduled Rams game isn’t until next week, we couldn’t help but make Sean’s wish come true at this game. You see, Sean has been serving in the Navy for the past 7 years and is currently stationed in San Diego.

He is a die hard Bears fan who was born and raised in Chicago.  His wish was to see the Bears play in LA! So we made it happen!  Sean and his wife were treated to front row seats right behind the goal post.

Unfortunately the Bears came up short and lost to the Rams, but Sean still had an awesome experience!

We would like to thank him for his service and sacrifices.

Thanks to the Monday night game being in Mexico, my dad will get a few days off before heading out to Houston for the Thursday night Texans game. Stay tuned…

Game 41 – Warrior Wishes Come True At The Redskins Game!

On a day that my dad was hosting warriors in Miami at the Dolphins game…

We also had the opportunity to make Warrior Wishes come true at the Redskins game thanks to our friend Tailgate Ted’s efforts and William Dahut’s generosity.

Earlier this week, Tailgate Ted made a call to action and asked that anyone not using their Redskins tickets donate them for us to host veterans. William saw Ted’s request and donate his tickets and gave us the opportunity to host Army Sgt Joseph Miller & his wife, Michelle at the game.

Operation Warrior Wishes would like to thank Joseph for his service and sacrifices!

We will be making more wishes come true tonight in LA at the Rams game! Stay tuned…

Game 40 – Warrior Wishes Come True in Miami!

We kicked off week 11 of our 2019 mission Thursday night in Cleveland at our 39th NFL game this year!

My dad has travelled thousands of miles since kicking off our 2019 mission and thankfully he has avoided any travel issues until last night…

You see, my dad was flying to Ft. Lauderdale Saturday night, but had to catch a connecting flight in Orlando before reaching his final destination. Upon landing in Orlando, he had 20 minutes to catch his connection. My dad rushed off the plane ran thru the terminal jumped on multiple shuttles only to find himself at the gate 2 minutes after they had closed to cabin door. I’m not sure why the airline decided to cut things so close, but he missed his flight.

I offered to get my dad an overnight bus, but he assured me that he was guaranteed to be on the first flight out in the morning and he got a good night sleep at the Orlando Airport.

At 7 am he was in the air and on his way to Ft Lauderdale. Upon arrival, he hopped in an uber and made his way directly to Hard Rock stadium to meet up with today’s guests at the tailgate. Today we had the honor of hosting Army 1SG Jimmy Wrisper, Army 1SG Danita Wrisper, Marine Adam Wimmer and Army Sgt Anthony Johnson in Miami.

Husband and wife, Jimmy and Danita Wrisper have a combined 55 years of service! Jimmy joined the Army in 1991 and served 22 years of active service on multiple Combat tours to the Middle East and South and Central America.

Danita served a combined 33 years of active and reserve time. She retired as a 1SG and also Served on multiple combat tours in the Middle East.

Adam Wimmer joined the Marine Corps in 2002 as a Motor Transport Wrecker Operator. He was stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC and deployed to Iraq in 2003, and 2004-2005. He was medically retired in 2010. He and his wife, Tina, enjoy spending time with their two daughters 10 and 8 years old. Adam also enjoys being active in local veteran service organizations.

Anthony Johnson was born in Buffalo, New York. He joined the Army just 3 days after graduating high school and served 8 years before becoming a military contractor for Northrop Grumman. He joined the Navy in 2000 and served until 2013!  Anthony was nominated for a Bills game by his daughter who says “My dad is our Hero because he’s always been there for us and has fought and overcome many obstacles. He taught us the value of a great education and led by example by receiving his Bachelors in Organizational Management and then his Masters in Educational Leadership.” Anthony currently lives in Orlando so when we realized our Dolphins game was against the Bills we had to make this wish come true! He even made a custom shirt for the experience!

My dad met up with the group at the “Dol-Phans” tailgate. The Dol-Phans have been helping make wishes come true in Miami since 2013 and we appreciate their continued support!

Here are some of our favorite memories of making wishes come true at the Dolphins games!

The group enjoyed getting to know one another at the tailgate over great food and good company. Former NFL player, Chris Draft even stopped by!

As game time approached, the group headed inside Hard Rock Stadium down to their awesome seats! We had 2 seats in the front row, second row and 3rd row!

Anthony’s 3rd row seats were located right next to the Bills tunnel. He enjoyed cheering them on as they made their way on and off the field.

The Bills gave Anthony a lot to cheer about on the field too. They jumped out to an early 16 point lead and never looked back. They went on to beat the Dolphins 37-20.

Obviously Anthony went home happy, but despite the Dolphins loss, our other guests still had a great experience!

Operation Warrior Wishes would like to thank Jimmy, Danita, Adam and Anthony for their service and sacrifices!

Thanks to the Monday night game in Mexico, my dad will get a rare day off. However, we have warriors going to the Houston Rockets game Monday night and my dad will be back in action Thursday night at the Texans game! Stay tuned…
