The St. Louis Cardinals Make Warrior Wishes Come True Again!

My dad has been on the road this week making Warrior Wishes come true at a Cardinals game, a Rangers game & 2 Astros games!

IMG_2784 IMG_2802 IMG_2831 IMG_2865

Today he has a “day off” kinda…  unfortunately there were no reasonable options to get from Houston to St. Louis in time for today’s game.  So while he spends all day riding a bus to St Louis, our friend, Army SGT Andy Cochran “Stepped up to the plate” in my dad’s absence to host the group of warriors at today’s Cards game.

SGT Cochran was a guest of ours at the St. Louis Rams game in 2013.  Since then, he has helped us make wishes come true multiple times in the Gateway city.

Andy was honored to be hosting Army Lt Col Amanda Terry, who was nominated by her Marine husband Ed Husted, Army Master SGT Kenneth Burns and Army Lt Col Patrick Moore.  We would like to congratulate Patrick on getting promoted to Lt Col just last month!

Everyone met up with Andy at the Ballpark Village, where Brett continues to help us make wishes come true before Cardinals games. He had dinner for 8 all set up, complete with a Tour of Ballpark Village from “Beerman” Tony Caradonna, who had given us such a great tour last week.  We cannot thank Brett, Tony & everyone at Ballpark village enough for their hospitality over the years!

The group enjoyed the delicious meal & Tour before they headed into Busch stadium to watch the Milwaukee Brewers take on the St Louis Cardinals.

IMG_2906

Unfortunately, the game did not go the Cardinals way, however it was an entertaining game as the Brewers and Cardinals played extra innings knotted up 4-4.  A wild 10th inning put the Brewers up 3 runs.  The Cardinals did their best to fight back, but fell short losing the game 7-5.

Despite the loss, SGT Cochran said that everyone enjoyed their experience & had a great time!

We would like to start out by thanking Andy for hosting everyone in my dad’s absence.  We also want to thank Mark and the St Louis Cardinals for providing tickets, , Brett and the Ball Park Village for once again providing pregame meals & tours, and New Era Cap for providing the Cardinals Caps!

TOGETHER WE MAKE WARRIOR WISHES COME TRUE!

Most importantly, thank you to  Army Master SGT Kent Burns, Lt Col Patrick Moore, Army SGT Andy Cochran, Marine Ed Husted and Lt Col Amanda Terry for your service & sacrifices to our great country!

My dad will be in St Louis later tonight to catch a bus west to Kansas City where he will be hosting warriors at the Royals game tomorrow. Stay tuned for more details!

Today he had the honor of hosting Army MSgt Kent Burns & the Gold Star Sister of Army SSG Benjamin Prange.  They had both been guests of ours in the past, so it was great to catch up with them, continue to show our support & remind them that their service & sacrifices are never forgotten.

The Warriors were treated to today’s cardinals game thanks to our friends at Edward Jones.  New Era provided new Cardinals caps for everyone, Budweiser Brehouse provided lunch & Before the game the Cardinals went above and beyond again to provide field passes for the Warriors.  Former Cardinals slugger, David Freese even stopped by to sign some autographs!  It was awesome!!!

Marine Matt Garvey also joined us for the game.

TOGETHER WE MAKE WARRIOR WISHES COME TRUE!

After my dad said his goodbyes and thanked the Warriors & their families one last time, he made his way over to the casino to try to stay awake.  His bus departed at 2am & he didn’t want to fall asleep and miss his ride.  Lucky for him, he won a couple of bucks playing slots and was able to stay awake just long enough to get on the bus before falling asleep on his 15 hour bus ride to Dallas.  He will eventually make his way to Houston to make Warrior wishes come true on Mothers Day at the Astros game.

Stay tuned for details!

Warrior Wishes Come True Thanks To The St. Louis Cardinals!

Immediately following making warrior wishes come true in Kansas City at the Royals game for the 2nd straight day, my dad hopped on an evening train to St Louis.  He spent the night at the casino playing penny slots to pass the time & ended up winning $20.  He also got a few hours of sleep too…

IMG_3027

When the sun came up, my dad made his way down to Busch stadium to meet up with Army SSG Ryan Yearicks with his service dog Harley & Army SPC Katie Knight with her service dog, Minders to make their warrior wishes come true at the Cardinals game.

DSC02833

Before the game, the Warriors were treated to lunch thanks to Fox Sports Midwest Live located in “Ballpark Village,” just outside of Busch stadium. They were also treated to a private tour of the facility , including the exclusive Rooftop Club part of Ballpark Village

IMG_3029 IMG_3028

FOX Sports Midwest Live! is the central gathering place and entertainment plaza of Ballpark Village with 20,000 square feet of entertainment space & a world-class audio and video presentation, St. Louis sports fans get one of the best sports-viewing experiences in the country. There’s a 100 foot long retractable glass roof, one of the largest of its kind in the country, so fans can enjoy the nice weather during warmer months. The venue includes, a stage for live concerts and performances.  It was a great place to meet up with the Warriors for lunch.

Thanks to the Cardinals, the Warriors had an opportunity of a lifetime to watch warm ups from the field & got to hang out in the dugout before the game!

IMG_3033 IMG_3037

One of the Cardinals coaches served in Vietnam himself, so he & Ryan talked for a while.  Minders & Harley stole the show as a few players stopped by to admire them & tell the Warriors thank you for their service.

IMG_3036

The Cardinals also provided tickets for the game for the Warriors.  They didn’t waste any time scoring as Brandon Moss homered in the 1st inning to give the Cards a 1-0 lead.  That would be all the runs they would need to win the game, but they added a few more for insurance as they beat the Phillies 4-0.

IMG_3032

During the game, the Warriors were recognized with their names on the score board (Look in the bottom lefthand corner).  It’s the small thing that help us make big memories & show the Warriors that their service & sacrifices have not gone unnoticed & are never forgotten.

IMG_3031 IMG_3030

Needless to say, everyone had an awesome time thanks to the Cardinals for providing tickets, field passes & the score board message.  We also want to thank New Era for providing Cardinals caps for the Warriors, and Fox Sports Midwest Live for the delicious food!
