Game 60 – Warrior Wishes Come True in New Orleans!

Almost every week during the NFL season is crazy for my dad. But this week was insane!  My dad kicked off week 15 on Thursday night in Baltimore to make wishes come true at the Ravens game.

From there, he bussed over to Philadelphia where he met up with a few fellow board members to host more than 50 warriors plus their guests at the Army Navy game Saturday afternoon.

And for the first time all season, I teamed up with my dad in Dallas to make wishes come true at the Cowboys game! It was an unforgettable experience!

I drove my dad directly to the bus station after we left AT&T stadium so he could catch his $1 bus ride to Houston.  He had about a 4 hour layover in Houston before he jumped on a 2nd $1 bus ride to New Orleans, his 4th City in 30 hours! Like I said, insane…

This is our 2nd game in New Orleans this season. Today we had the honor of hosting Army SSG Brandon Stovall and his family at the Saints game.

SSG Stovall was nominated to us by his wife. She tells us that Brandon proudly served in the Army for nearly 15 years. “He is a die hard Saints fan who would love nothing more than to go to a game.”

Well it was an honor to make this wish come true and host Brandon and his family in the “Big Easy.”

My dad met up with the Stovall family for dinner at Walkons before the game. WalkOns is part owned by Saints future Hall of Fame Quarterback, Drew Brees. They have been helping make wishes come true for the past few years and we cannot thank them enough for their support! Make sure to stop by next time you’re in town!

Speaking of Drew Brees. Last year we had the pleasure of watching him break the NFL record for most passing yards in NFL history! Tonight he had the chance to break another amazing record, the most touchdown passes in NFL history! SSG Stovall and his family were excited to see history!

Before heading inside the Superdome, the Stovall family had some fun tailgating with our friends. “Cyborg Saint” and his super fan friends always enjoy making warrior wishes before every saints game when we are in town and we appreciate their support!

As game time approached, everyone headed inside to watch Drew Brees and the Saints take on the Colts.

Brees nearly broke the record just before halftime. The stadium erupted in cheers as he connected with Tre’Quan smith in the end zone. But an offensive pass interference call nullified the score and the saints had to settle for a field goal. They took a commanding 20-0 lead into the half.

It took the saints less than 5 minutes to score in the 2nd half. Drew Brees connected with Josh Hill to break Tom Brady’s record! He added 1 more TD pass to his total before the night was over and the Saints went on to beat the Colts 34-7!

Operation Warrior wishes would like to thank Brandon for his service and sacrifices. He and his family enjoyed their experience!

My dad will be heading home Tomorrow evening, but before he left he set up one more little surprise for the Stovall’s. Our friends at Cajun Pride swamp tours gave them a tour of the swamp before they made their way back home.

If you ever visit New Orleans, you must go on this swamp tour! It’s the best!!!

My dad will be back in action next Sunday at the Bears game. Stay Tuned…
