Game 53 – The Browns Make Warrior Wishes Come True!

We kicked off week 13 in Chicago at the Bears game on Thursday night, our 52nd game this season!
Last night, while my dad was en route to Cleveland via the $1 megabus, Warrior wishes came true at the Predators game in Nashville thanks to our friend Keith and our friends at VACO!
Today my dad is back in “The Land” for the 2nd time this season.
At the beginning of the season there was a lot of buzz surrounding the Browns and we received a lot of nominations, so we made sure to have a couple of Browns games on our schedule. Unfortunately things have not turned out the way the Browns were hoping, as they are already eliminated from playoff contention, but that doesn’t mean we can’t continue to make wishes come true at Browns games!
Today we had the honor of hosting Air Force Michael Sweeney and Marine SSGT James Schupbach at the game.
Michael Sweeney was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He joined The United States Air Force after graduating High School at the age of 18. While in the Air Force he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree as well as his Master’s Degree in Business from Ohio State University Online. Michael deployed a total of 9 times Throughout his career in the Air Force! 6 deployments to Iraq, 1 to Afghanistan and 2 to Africa. His actions earned him several awards during this time to include 6 Air Medals, Joint Commendation and a Purple Heart.
Today Michael lives in San Antonio, TX with his longtime girlfriend and their 3 children. Michael is an avid Cleveland Browns fan and is so thankful for this opportunity given to him by Warrior Wishes.
SSGT James Schupbach served in the Marines from 1993 until 2005.
Mark Toppel, one of our Marine board members served with James and nominated him for this experience. They hadn’t seen each other in over 20 years! It was an honor to reconnect them and host them at the Browns game!
The group met up for brunch before the game at the Harry Buffalo.
Harry Buffalo in Cleveland has been making Warrior Wishes come true for the past few years and we cannot thank them enough for their continued support!
After filling up at the pregame meal, the group made their way down the street to first energy stadium, home of the Cleveland Browns. The Browns went above and beyond for the second time this season and provided tickets to the warriors. The Pro Football Hall of Fame also provided 2 tickets for this game too! We’re thankful for their support.
The 50 yard line seats were awesome!
The Browns offense got off to a slow start, but thankfully their defense scored on a pick six to give them an early lead.
Their offense picked things up late in the 2nd quarter and early in the 3rd as Mayfield and Hunt added rushing touchdowns to give the Browns the lead for good. They went on to beat the Bengals by the score of 27-19. The Warriors celebrated the win!
They must bring good luck to the Browns. We haven’t seen them lose a game in over 2 years!
Operation Warrior Wishes would like to thank Michael, James & Mark for their service and sacrifices.
My dad will be back on an overnight bus tonight to Philadelphia. He will be back in action tomorrow making wishes come true at the Eagles game. Stay tuned….
