Game 30 – Warrior Wishes Come True At Arrowhead!

After making wishes come true at the Vikings game Thursday night…
My dad bussed home for a day and even took time for himself to get a haircut before heading back out on the road Saturday night.
For the 7th time in 7 days, my dad was on a bus. That may not seem like a big deal, until you realize he has spent nearly 50 hours on a bus in a week! Thankfully this 15 hour bus ride to Kansas City was his last bus until next week…
Today he was back in Kansas City to make Warrior wishes come true at our 4th Regular season Chiefs home game this season! In case you missed the news, we’re making wishes come true at every Chiefs home game throughout the 2019 season!
My dad arrived in Kansas City via overnight greyhound at around 11am. He made his way over to Buffalo Wild Wing in Independence to meet the warriors for some pregame wings.
Our friends at Buffalo Wild Wings in Independence have been helping us make wishes come true since 2013! We truly appreciate their continued support!
Today we had the honor of hosting Marine Larry Fleming along with and Army husband and wife, Michelle and Preston O’Neal.
Larry Fleming served in the Marines from 1978-1982. He and his wife are “Huge Kansas City Chiefs fans” and it was an honor to make this wish come true!
Both SSG Preston O’Neal and PFC Michelle O’Neal served as a Military Police Officers. Michelle deployed to Mosul, Iraq for operation Iraqi Freedom and Preston served on 4 overseas deployments!
Preston nominated his wife for this experience to show her how much she is appreciated! He hoped to give her a fun and relaxing day at the Chiefs game and it was an honor to have the opportunity to make it happen!
After the group filled up on wings they made their way over to Arrowhead stadium, home of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Once again we want to thank our friends at the “Munce Tailgate” for hosting us for some pregame fun! Don and his crew have been making wishes come true since 2013 and at every Chiefs home game this year!
As game time approached, the group made their way inside to their seats to watch the Sunday Night Packers vs Chiefs matchup!
This game was one of the most highly anticipated matchups of the 2019 season. But unfortunately the Chiefs superstar QB, Patrick Mahomes, was injured in last weeks game and unable to play in the game.
The Packers quickly jumped out to an early 14 point lead. But Matt Moore and the chiefs fought their way back and scored 17 unanswered points to take a 17-14 lead into the half.
The packers scored 10 unanswered points of their own to take a 24-17 lead in the 4th quarter. The Chiefs were able to tie things up. But Aaron Rodgers connected with Aaron Jones for a 67 yard touchdown to give the packers the 31-24 win. Jones finished the game with 200+ yards and 2 touchdowns.
Despite the loss the warriors had a great time at the game. Operation Warrior Wishes would like to thank Larry, Preston and Michelle for their service and sacrifices!
After the game my dad made his way to the airport. While waiting to board his early morning flight he ran into Aaron Jones parents, both whom have served in the military! We’re thankful for their service too and hope to work with Aaron to make some wishes come true the next time we are in Green Bay!
My dad is off to Pittsburgh to make wishes come true at the Monday night Steelers game! Stay tuned…
