Game 23 – Making Warrior Wishes Come True In Philadelphia!

After kicking off week 7 in Oakland making wishes come true at the Raiders game…
My dad made his way across the bay & got to catch up with some good friends before hosting Warriors at the 49ers game Sunday afternoon.
Immediately following the 49ers game, he headed to the airport to catch a cross country overnight flight to Philadelphia! As expected my dad fell asleep as soon as he got on the plane and didn’t wake up until the plane touched down in Philly.
Upon his arrival he quickly got to work tying up loose ends for tonight’s Eagles game & continued planning this year’s upcoming Army Navy game, which is also being played in Philadelphia on December 9th.
Today we had the honor of hosting Army SPC Jonathan Boyer & Army MP Don Hellings at the Eagles game. Jonathan was nominated by his wife & she helped my dad have a little fun to surprise her husband with the opportunity. She set him up on a call with my dad, where hep pretended to be calling from a radio station. My dad asked some easy questions about the Eagles & wrapped up the call with one final question…”What is the name of the stadium that you are going to tomorrow night to see the Eagles in action?” Jonathan was confused at first, but finally realized it was a set up & was excited for the chance to go to the game!
Over the years we have made some unforgettable memories making wishes come true at Philadelphia Eagles games. Here are some of our favorite moments.
For the 5th straight year, Mcfaddens located in Citizens Bank Park provided the warriors with a delicious pregame meal. We cannot thank them enough for their continued partnership & we look forward to seeing them again in December when we are in town hosting warriors at the Army Navy game.
SPC Boyer was first to arrive for dinner. My dad said he was very appreciative of the opportunity to attend the Eagles game & Excited to cheer his team to a victory. Army MP Don Hellings arrived a few minutes later and my dad also invited Army Sgt John Redheffer to join them for lunch as well. They already had tickets for the game.
Everyone had a great time at dinner getting to know each other. It’s truly amazing how the guys all seemed to know some of the same people and other veterans in the Philadelphia area, which made for great conversation.
Shaun Young & a few other Eagles super fans stopped by to thank the warriors for their service just before my dad presented the guys with their new Eagles caps courtesy of New Era.
After Dinner, the guys made their way across the street to Lincoln Financial Field, home of the Philadelphia Eagles.
The warriors enjoyed the game from their 12th row seats!
The Eagles fell behind the Redskins early 10-3, but scored 2 touchdowns in the 2nd quarter to take a 17-10 lead into the half. The division rivals exchanged touchdowns in the second half and the Redskins could never could catch up losing 34-24.
The Eagles victory made the warriors very happy as it gave them a commanding 3 game lead in their division!
Operation Warrior Wishes would like to thank our friends at McFaddens for providing The pregame meal, as well as New Era for providing Eagles caps!
TOGETHER WE MAKE WARRIOR WISHES COME TRUE!
Most importantly, we want to thank Army SPC Jonathan Boyer, Army SSG Don Hellings and Army SGT Jon Redheffer for their service to our country! We salute you!
My dad is heading home tomorrow morning & will get some much needed rest over the next couple days before heading to Baltimore for the Ravens Thursday Night Football matchup against the Dolphins. Stay tuned for more details!
