Game 17 – Warrior Wishes Come True At The Giants Game!

After making Warrior Wishes come true last week in New England, Kansas City & New Orleans…

My dad was back home watching the grandkids Wednesday morning. He even had the opportunity to go out to dinner with us & hang up Halloween decorations before hitting the road again.

My dad & I were up early at 3am heading to the airport. My dad was off to New York on a 5:30am flight & I was off to work.

For those of you who have been following our mission for a while, you may remember that New York is where our mission began. We hosted our first warriors on September 5th, 2012 at the Giants game.

Fast forward 7 years and we are honored to have had the opportunity to host thousands of warriors at hundreds of events since then. It’s truly been a wild ride & we are thankful to everyone who has ever helped us make Wishes come true & even more thankful to the brave men & women who serve our country!

My dad arrived in the “Big Apple” early Thursday morning. He wasted no time making his way to MetLife stadium to help our friend Ed set up the tailgate.

Ed Solemeh & his tailgate crew were a huge part of our first ever Warrior Wishes experience back in 2012. Ed hosted us & the warriors at that game & every Giants game we have ever made Warrior Wishes come true at since! Ed always goes above and beyond to provide unforgettable experiences every time! We are thankful for everything he & his crew does to help us make Wishes come true!

Today we had the honor of hosting 2 Marines, Matt Lawrence & Michael Snyder.  Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate with us again… Michael was first to arrive at the tailgate. Unfortunately heavy rain was pouring down, but thankfully Ed was prepared with tents to keep everyone dry.

Once Matt & his wife arrived about a half hour or so later, the group got to know each other over some delicious pulled pork sandwiches, Mac & cheese & refreshing drinks thanks to Ed & his crew!

Ed welcomed the warriors with open arms, gave his “we are all family here” speech & introduced the warriors to all of his tailgate friends. He told the guys that they are always welcome back anytime & invited them to join him in his Giants themed RV for a little surprise before heading inside the stadium. Ed presented each of the warriors with Giants themed gift bags filled with Jerseys, Sweatshirts, T-shirts & even a pair of Giants shoes!!!

Each year my dad looks forward to watching the warriors faces light up with smiles from ear to ear as they dig thru the bag to see the amazing gifts inside. Like I said before, Ed & his crew have been providing these unforgettable experiences from day 1 & we cannot thank them enough!

As game time approached, everyone made their way inside the stadium. Thankfully the rain subsided & it ended up being a beautiful night for football!

Unfortunately, the giants play wasn’t as beautiful as the weather… the Eagles were in control from beginning to end & coasted past the G-men by the score of 34-13. Despite the loss, the warriors still had a great experience & enjoyed the game.

We couldn’t have made it all possible without our friend Ed & his crew!

We want to thank Marines Michael Snyder & Matt Lawrence for your dedicated service to our country!

My dad will be making his way out to our nations capitol this weekend to make Warrior Wishes come true at the Redskins game! Stay tuned for details!
