Game 15 – Warrior Wishes Come True In Seattle!

After making Warrior Wishes come true in Pittsburgh…

My dad immediately cut the grass and got to spend some time hanging out with the grandkids before heading west for the first time this season.

To kickoff week 5 my dad made his way to the Pacific Northwest to make Warrior Wishes come true in Seattle!

My dad will be on the west coast until Tuesday. Today Seattle, Sunday LA & Monday San Francisco.

Throughout the years we have made some unforgettable memories making Wishes come true in the Emerald city! Here are some of my favorites!

I had dropped my dad off at the airport Thursday morning at around 4am. He arrived in Seattle around 10am.

Upon arrival he made his way down to CenturyLink field to take a few pictures before meeting up with the warriors for the pregame meal.

Today we had the honor of hosting Army SFC Jose “Joe” Domingo, Army SFC Joe Deacis and Army SSG Richard Workman at the Seahawks game! All 3 of these brave warriors proudly served our country for more than 20 years!!!

My dad met up with the guys at Jimmy’s on First. Jimmy’s On First is right where you want to be to catch all the action in a energetic and fun atmosphere. Located across the street from Safeco Field and next door to Centurylink Field, Jimmy’s On First is the place to meet up, cheer and celebrate while enjoying delicious steaks, local seafood and chef inspired specials. They have been helping make Warrior Wishes come true for years and we appreciate their support! Make sure to stop by the next time you’re in town!

A special guest also stopped by to thank the warriors for their service before heading into the stadium. We had the opportunity to connect with Rams running back Todd Gurley this summer at the ESPY awards in LA. Todd is an amazing player on the field, but what you may not know, he also does some amazing things off the field too. Todd & his childhood friend started a program called M.A.D.E. It stands for Make A Difference Everyday. Their goal is to make a difference in the lives of kids by using football to connect.

But outside of the football camps, Todd is always looking for opportunities to give back and make a difference. And even though we were hosting Seahawks fans, he appreciates their sacrifices and wanted to “Make A Difference” by providing them with field passes to the game and offered us additional tickets to host more warriors at the game!

Todd was busy preparing for the game, however his brother, Shannon, was awesome and presented the warriors with the field passes before the game!

As SFC Domingo, SFC Deacis and SSG Workman made their way into the stadium, my dad was able to connect with Army Spc Zackary Bauer and Army Spc Marc Garcia, 2 active duty soldiers to take advantage of the 2 extra tickets.

So although all the warriors were cheering on the Seahawks, I think they were also all secretly cheering for Todd Gurley too!

The guys had the opportunity to enjoy great seats and a great game! After taking a 1 point lead late in the 4th quarter, the rams drove down the field only to turnover the ball on an amazing interception catch with just over 2 minutes left in the game. Unfortunately they could not convert a first down to close things out and had to punt the ball back to the Rams with 1 minute remaining in the game…

The Rams marched down the field and set up a game winning field goal opportunity. It was a good snap, good hold and the ball sailed wide of the uprights sending the Seahawks fan base into a frenzy!!!

Although the Rams ended up losing the game, I’m happy to report that Todd Gurley found the end zone twice, so I guess you could say things worked out pretty well!

Operation Warrior Wishes would once again like to thank Jimmy’s on first for providing the delicious meal and Todd Gurley and his brother Shannon for making a difference. We are looking forward to seeing you guys again in LA later this year.

But most importantly we want to thank Army SFC Jose “Joe” Domingo, Army SFC Joe Deacis and Army SSG Richard Workman, Army Spc, Zackary Bauer and Army Spc Marc Garcia for their dedicated service to our country! You are all appreciated and will never be forgotten!

My dad will be spending the next 2 days touring around Seattle before heading south to Los Angeles to make Warrior Wishes come true at the Chargers game on Sunday. Stay tuned for details…
