Game 11 – Warrior Wishes Come True At Lambeau Field!

In the first 3 weeks of the NFL season, my dad has travelled more than 10,000 miles to make Warrior Wishes come true in New England, Chicago, Minnesota, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, New York, San Francisco, LA & Arizona!
Oh, and if you’re thinking we spent a ton of money on travel, think again. We spent less than $2500 in travel expenses for our entire 2017 mission, which includes more than 45 games on our schedule!
We know the more money we can save on operational cost, means the more money we have to give back to the warriors. All 9 board of directors at Operation Warrior Wishes get paid in nothing but smiles. We all volunteer to make wishes come true. We are proud to say that 99% of donations last year went to the mission!
We are kicking off week 4 in Green Bay. We have made some incredible friendships and unforgettable memories making Warrior Wishes come true at Packers games over the years.
My dad & Army SGT Lorenzo Amaro hit the road early Thursday morning. SGT Amaro is a die hard Bears fan who has never experienced Lambeau field. He was excited to see his Bears play in Green Bay!
For those of you who have never been to Lambeau, it’s a special place! And I hate to admit that since I’m a bears fan… there is no other stadium or sports town like Green Bay & Lambeau field. It’s one of our favorite stadiums.
They arrived in Green Bay just after noon. After parking just 5 blocks from the stadium, my dad and SGT Amaro toured the stadium area & took it all in. My dad was impressed with all of the updates around the stadium. They built a brand new hotel and now have a man made sledding hill which will be great for all those December & January games! There are a lot more developments on the way that will enhance the “Lambeau experience.”
They also met up with some good friends, the Tompa’s & Packers super fan Steve “The Owner” Tate.
The Tompa’s have been helping us make Warrior Wishes come true for the past 4 years. We always love tailgating with them before the game!
On top of hosting SGT Amaro, we were also honored to be hosting a father & son who both served in the Marines. Nick & Robert Browne are both big Packers fans!
Nick had nominated his dad for this experience but we turned the table and invited him as well. Nick was inspired and motivated to join the Marines because of his dad. For obvious reasons, we love hosting fathers & sons!
Nick & Robert arrived at the tailgate at 5pm. Everyone enjoyed getting to know each other & had a great time tailgating! My dad presented the warriors with thank you letters & brand new New Era Caps before the group made their way over to the stadium.
Thanks to Warrior Wishes supporter, Quinton Dial (Packers defensive tackle), Nick & his dad had the opportunity of a lifetime and got to sit in the 2nd row behind the Packers bench! Needless to say, they were super excited!
We met Quinton 2 years ago in LA at the Espys. He helped us make Wishes come true in San Francisco last season & this year in Green Bay! We cannot thank him enough for his support!
The Bears-Packers rivalry is one of the oldest rivalries in the NFL. They have played against each other 194 times & believe it or not, their series record is tied 94-94-6. The winner of this game will take the lead!
The Packers were clear favorites to win the game & they didn’t let their fans down. Chants of “Go Pack Go” filled the stadium as the Packers marched down the field to score a Touchdown on their first drive of the game. He Bears lost a fumble on heir first offensive play… the turnover led to the Packers 2nd touchdown in less than 1 minute! Just 5 minutes into the game, the Bears trailed 14-0.
The Bears had a chance to regroup and take a break, thanks to Mother Nature… players & fans were evacuated during the storm to keep everyone safe.
In the end, the Packers completely dominated the game to take that series lead & won by the score of 35-14. The Browne’s were happy about the Packers win, SGT Amaro was disappointed in the Bears loss, but the experience wasn’t over yet…
Quinton wanted to meet the guys after the game to thank them for their service, so he provided friends & family passes. While waiting to meet up with Quinton, the guys had the opportunity to meet Packers Linebacker Clay Matthews.
Clay actually remembered us from when he helped us surprise Taylor Morris at the Super Bowl in 2013.
The guys also go to meet & hang out with Packers Quarterback Aaron Rodgers! Aaron had actually hosted one of Nick’s fallen battle buddies’ son at his Camp Heroes program.
Lorenzo was quick to point out he was a Bears fan when he met the future Hall of fame QB. Rodgers then apologized to him for beating his team. Sgt Amaro told us that was the highlight of his night!
Unfortunately, they were never able to connect with Quinton. The warriors were really looking forward to meeting him & really wanted to thank him for helping provide this unforgettable experience!
Operation Warrior Wishes can’t thank Quinton enough for his generosity! We also want to thank Shana & the Tompa family for their continued support as well as New Era for providing Caps to the warriors!
TOGETHER WE MAKE WARRIOR WISHES COME TRUE!
Most importantly, we want to thank Army Sgt Lorenzo Amaro, Marine SSGT Robert Browne and his Marine son Nick Browne for their dedicated service to our country! We Salute you!
The group did not leave Lambeau until 1:30am. Nick & his dad said “this is the best game experience we have ever been to.” It was a true honor to host this amazing group of men. After saying their goodbyes, SGT Amaro & my dad headed back home and finally arrived just before sunrise at 6am.
Without getting much sleep, My dad is heading straight to the Bison golf outing Friday morning & will be at our first annual Bowling fundraiser Friday evening. He takes off for Denver tomorrow to host heroes at the Rockies & Broncos games this weekend. Stay tuned for more details!
It was an honor to host these brave warriors and make their Warrior Wishes come true. If you know a deserving warrior who would love to attend a game on our “All32in17” mission please nominate them today!
Make sure to follow our mission live on Facebook Twitter & Instagram @WarriorWishes.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
