Warrior Wishes Come True in New Orleans!

Well, our regularly scheduled Pelicans Game is Friday here in New Orleans, so thanks to our friend Chris, got a day of R & R ( and got a little bit of work done too) during this beautiful 75 degree day . Another friend, and one of our previous guests, Sgt Elliot Smith nominated Army Sgt Brandon Vanek for a very exclusive opportunity – to watch Kobe Bryant play his last game in New Orleans. Sgt Vanek was very excited for his chance to see this history. He was hoping to work out logistics since he was a couple hours away and his fiancé didn’t get off until 4:00. I was hoping he could make it in time to maybe even meet Kobe at the hotel where they were staying. Unfortunately, Sgt Vanek was unable to make it in time but we went over to hotel anyway and got a photo of Kobe to give to Brandon. Tonight was a Bad News/Good News scenario but thanks to Chris at the Pelicans, it all worked out – due to those difficult logistics, Sgt Vanek and his fiancé were unable to make the Lakers-Pelicans game on Friday BUT…since there was also a Home game Saturday night vs the Suns, the Pelicans graciously switched out the nosebleed Laker tickets for much better 100 levels seats for Saturdays game, allowing Brandon and his fiancé to have nice relaxing experience rather than rushing around. We also set up a Pre game Dinner for them at nearby WalkOns Sports Bar. Unfortunately, the Pelicans fell to the Suns 121-100
Thank you to Chris at the New Orleans Pelicans, Walk On Sports Bar and New Era Cap Company, as well as Sgt Elliot Smith for nominating Sgt Vanek for the experience.
