The Houston Astros Make Warrior Wishes Come True!

This week my dad has been on the road making Warrior Wishes come true in Detroit, St. Louis, Arlington & Houston.
After making wishes come true at the Astros game yesterday, my dad just barely made the last #102 bus to the airport to get a few hours of sleep before taking the first bus back out to the stadium early Sunday morning to meet today’s new warriors.
Today we had the honor of hosting Army Sgt Jeramie Green & Marine Daniel Espinoza at the Astros game.
The Astros were honoriNg SGT Green as their “Hometown Hero” today, so needless to say, we were excited for the game! Daniel would have also been honored for his service, but he was the Astros “Hometown Hero” 2 years ago.
My dad was looking forward to meeting Dan & catching up with SGT green & his family again. They were our Cowboys guests in 2014.
Everyone met at Biggios Restaurant at the Marriott Marquis Hotel at 11:00 AM for brunch before the game. My dad was familiar with The Marriott Marquis, because it was the site of 2 of our Super Bowl events this past afebruary. The NFL’s Hall of Fame Luncheon and the Super Bowl Breakfast. Biggios, owned by Astros long time second baseman, Craig Biggio, opened the restaurant for the first time during Super Bowl week.
Thanks to Biggios, the warriors & their families were treated to a delicious brunch. Biggio’s is not your average sports bar. Two 30-foot tall high-definition screens will keep you entertained during any season and their extensive beer list is sure to impress. You can Enjoy signature dishes such as Texas Wild Boar Bolognaise and Burnt End Tacos alongside classic favorites like Loaded Nachos and Crispy Wings. My dad, the warriors & their families truly enjoyed getting to know each other over some great food & drinks! After brunch, everyone walked down the street to Minute Maid Park, home of the Houston Astros.
They snapped a few photos in front of the stadium with their brand new New Era Caps before heading inside.
The Warriors got to sit in the exclusive Hometown Hero seats designated specifically for the Astros guests of honor. As we mentioned before, Today was a special day for Jeramie and his family, as he was being honored on the field as the Hometown Hero. In the third inning, the Astros staff escorted him down through the tunnel and onto the field. His daughter KK went down with him and as the inning ended, the PA announcer introduced him to the crowd. Minute Maid Park exploded into applause. Jeramie received a standing ovation for his service & sacrifices. My dad was able to capture the special moment with some great pictures!
After the recognition ceremony, They returned to their seats to enjoy the rest of the game. The first place Astros gave them plenty to cheer about as they went on to win the game 7-2.
Operation Warrior Wishes would like to thank Marques at Biggio’s Restaurant for providing brunch & New Era Cap for the awesome new Astros caps for the warriors we also want to send a special thank you to Andrew & the Houston Astros for their continued support of our mission each year. They truly went above and beyond to help us provide an unforgettable experience!
TOGETHER WE MAKE WARRIOR WISHES COME TRUE!
Most importantly thank you to Army SGT Jeramie Green and Marine Daniel Espinoza for your service to our country! It’s appreciated, it has not gone unnoticed & it will never be forgotten!
My dad will be hopping on a bus for the next 18 hours to make wishes come true in Kansas City. Stay tuned for more details!
Nominate your Hero for an upcoming game on our “Battlefields to Ballfields” mission.
