Game 4 – Making Warrior Wishes Come True in Chicago

Here are some of our favorite memories from making Warrior Wishes come true at the or should I say “Da” Bears games.
This year we had an opportunity to buy season tickets for our hometown Chicago Bears & since we have a lot of Bears Nominations it made sense to buy them.
So after having made Warrior Wishes come true in Oakland, San Fran & KC, my dad is back home for the weekend hosting Air Force Warrior Jeffery Walker at the Bears game.
AIR FORCE WARRIOR JEFFREY WALKER
I was personally excited about this game, because I get to team up with my dad for the first time in what seems like forever & help honor this brave warrior.
Jeff is an Air Force veteran who proudly served our country for 14 years! Most Americans will never serve on a tour of duty, Jeff has served on 7!!! He served 1 tour in Korea, 1 tour in Kuwait, 1 to Qatar, 2 in Iraq and 2 In Afghanistan. Jeff had to be medically retired due to a sustained injury in combat.
Jeff was nominated by his wife Lisa. Lisa also proudly served our country in the Marines. She told us how Jeff never misses a Bears game. Every Sunday during football season, he can be found in front of the TV cheering on his beloved Bears. Lisa mentioned that Jeff had never been to a game in person & an experience at soldier field would be a dream come true!
So we surprised Jeff at dinner last week thanks to Flat River Grill in Michigan & made his warriors wish come true today at his first ever Bears game!
The Bears went above & beyond by providing field passes for Jeff, Lisa & Lisa’s service dog, Dante. Jeff was in heaven, it was a “dream come true” to walk out onto the field & watch the players warm up from the sidelines! Plus, it was alumni day, so a lot of former bears players were roaming the sidelines.
Unfortunately, Jeff’s favorite player, Brian Urlacher was not in attendance. But he was able to meet Johnny Knox, Chris Draft, Adrian Peterson, and even the team owner, George McCaskey!
The day was perfect, until the Bears kicked off to start the game…. The cardinals ran the opening kickoff back for a TD and it was only the beginning. The Bears lost 48-23! There was one bright spot during the game, Jeff made it up on the jumbotron flexing his muscles on the “Flex Cam”.
It was another incredible day filled with memories with a few American heroes. We are thankful for Flat River Grill for helping us pull off the surprise, the Chicago Bears for providing field passes, Da Bus & Da Coach for inviting us to tailgate, New Era for providing Bears Caps & most importantly, thanks to Lisa & Jeff for your service & giving us the opportunity to make your warrior wish come true!
One thing I failed to mention, is that my dad shattered his phone at the game. So immediately after the game ended, we rushed home to get an old phone and made our way over to AT&it just minutes before they closed. Otherwise he would not have had a phone to coordinate tomorrow’s Colts game!
We have officially accomplished missions at 4 games in 7 days! 28 more to go. Thank you for your support!!!!
TOGETHER WE MAKE WARRIOR WISHES COME TRUE!
