Vikings

Honoring Navy Warrior Benito Olson, Natl Guard Andy Riewer and the Gold Star Family of Army SSG Greg Riewer.
Wounded Veteran Benito Olson has been training dogs for over 13 years. While serving in the Navy as Master at Arms Chief Petty Officer he was recruited by Navy SEAL Teams to train some of the most advanced dogs in obedience, detection, protection, tracking and many other capabilities.
Benito was critically wounded in Iraq in 2008, he shattered both of his femurs, broke his wrist, suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury, and PTSD. Despite the injuries sustained, he returned to serve in Afghanistan for 4 more additional deployments before being medically retired out of the Navy in October 2013. Benito is a Die Hard Minnesota Vikings fan.
U.S. Army SGT Greg Riewer had served in Bosnia and both he and his brother, Staff Sgt. Andrew Riewer, were deployed to Iraq together in 2006. On March 23rd 2007, while serving during Operation Iraqi Freedom, Sgt. Greg N. Riewer, 28, was killed while on patrol March 23 in Fallujah with soldiers from the Bemidji-based Company A, 2nd Battalion, 136th Infantry, when his vehicle was struck by a roadside bomb. We were honored to keep Sgt Riewer’s legacy alive and hosted his brother & his mom at the Vikings game!
We would like to thank Whole Foods Market Hennepin for providing a pregame meal & New Era Cap for providing Vikings caps for the warriors and their families!
