Honoring Marine Cpl Brandon Rumbaugh & Army SSG Michael Kacer.
While on deployment in Afghanistan on November 29th 2010, Marine Cpl Brandon Rumbaugh was responding to the scene of an IED blast involving one of his good friends just outside his compound. Carrying a stretcher, and rushing with his team to aid the injured Marine, Brandon stepped on a second IED resulting in the traumatic amputations of his right leg at the hip and his left leg below the knee.
Army SSG Michael Kacer lost his left arm in a 2008 rocket attack while serving in Afghanistan. Today, Kacer doesn’t let anything stop him. He actively participates in sporting events and is a member of the Wounded Warrior Amputee Football Team. SSG Kacer is the biggest Steelers fan you will ever meet. His prosthetic arm even has a steelers logo on it!
The warriors made once in a lifetime memories thanks toESPN Monday Night Football. They enjoyed pregame warm ups from the field, Mike found his way into the steelers tunnel to escape the rain and pumped up the team as they ran out onto the field. It was a day to never forget!
We would like to thank Whole Foods Market Pittsburgh for providing a pregame meal, @ESPN for sharing our story onMonday Night Football, Dusquene Incline for providing a tour,St. Charles Toyota for providing transportation & The Pittsburgh Steelers for helping us make these #WarriorWishescome true!
