After spending the past few days in New York making Wishes come true at the Jets game on Thursday & the Giants game on Monday, my dad made his way home for a few hours.

He arrived in Chicago at 11:30pm and got a little rest in his own bed before hitting the road to Green Bay first thing in the morning with fellow board member Bill Heaton.  Bill & my dad always have fun on the road together.

Upon arrival in Green Bay, my dad & Bill made their way to our friend’s mom’s house to meet the warriors & “tailgate.”  Shana Tompa & her husband have been helping us make wishes come true in Green Bay since 2013.  Although Shana now lives in Arizona, her mom still lives just blocks from the stadium.  Shana & her husband are still season ticket holders who do their best to make it to as many games as possible each year.  We are truly thankful for all the Tompa’s have done to help us make wishes come true in Green Bay!

Today they helped us host Army Sgt Shawn Monroe, Army CW2 David Nuccio and Army SSG Travis Reichert.

Instead of the traditional tailgate outside the stadium, the warriors all met up at Shana’s moms house.  The group had a blast getting to know each other &  enjoyed “tailgating” in the living room!

Eventually, everyone made their way to the  world famous Lambeau Field.  They made sure to get in early because the 1919 Kitchen & Tap offered to host the warriors for dinner before the game.

The 1919 Kitchen & Tap is one of the hardest restaurants to get in during game days in Green Bay.  The restaurant offers an elevated dining experience with delicious food & refreshing drinks.  It is conveniently located inside the “Atrium” of the stadium making it the perfect place to grab a bite to eat before and after games.  We cannot thank Carol & the 1919 Kitchen & tap enough for their continued support!

Unfortunately, you must have a Game Ticket to get into the 1919 Kitchen & Tap. So after Since Bill& my dad did not have tickets, they said their goodbyes early.  As the warriors enjoyed their meal inside the stadium, my dad & Bill headed down the street to get some food before heading back home.

The warriors had an unforgettable experience as they got to watch the Lions & Packers kick off from the 1st & 2nd rows of the stadium!

Unfortunately, the Packers did not do much “Lambeau Leaping” & fell to the Lions by the score of 30-17.  Despite the loss, the warriors enjoyed their experience!

Operation Warrior Wishes would like to thank the Green Bay Packers for sending special gift bags to many of our nominees all season long.  We also want to thank New Era for providing the warriors with new Packers caps, The 1919 Kitchen & Tap for providing a delicious pregame meal & the Tompa family for their generosity & hospitality throughout the years!

TOGETHER WE MAKE WARRIOR WISHES COME TRUE!

Most importantly, we want to thank Army CW2 David Nuccio, Army SGT Shawn Monroe & Army SSG Travis Reichert for your service & sacrifices to our country!

My dad will have the opportunity to get some rest over the next few days.  He will be back in action on Thursday to make Warrior Wishes come true in Arizona!  Check back soon for more details!

It was an honor to host these brave warriors and make their Warrior Wishes come true. If you know a deserving warrior who would love to attend a game on our “All32in17” mission please nominate them today!
